Tyke and Atom A Eagles - Tournament Champions
This past weekend was an exciting one for our Tyke and Atom A Eagles, with both teams coming out at Champions at their respective tournaments.

Tykes - Pickering Spring Thaw

Our Tyke Eagles played in the Annual Pickering Spring Thaw tournament, pressure was on for our tykes to defend the title that was won by the 2014-15 Tyke Select Eagles, and this year's team of Tykes did not disappoint!

The Tykes opened the round robin portion of the tournament with a big 8-1 win against the Kiwanis Stars, which was followed by a tough 6-1 loss against the Whitby Wildcats Martin team. The Tykes battled back to finish the Round Robin with a pair of wins against the Orillia Terriers (3-1) and the Glanbrook Rangers (7-0).

Semi-final action saw a rematch against the Whitby team, and this time our Tyke came out on top with a hard fought 3-2 win.  However, the Whitby Minor Hockey Association wasn't done with our Tykes as they played the second team for Whitby (Wildcats Harness) in the Championship game, where our Tykes came out victorious with a 4-2.

Congrats to our EG Tyke Select Eagles in repeating as Pickering Spring Thaw Champions!!!

Atom A's - March Meltdown

Over this past weekend the Atom A Team participated in the March Meltdown Tournament in Etobicoke and also came away victorious. While the team played the entire tournament shorthanded due to several injuries, everyone rallied together and played some of their best hockey this season.

The team went 4-0 in Round Robin play with hard fought victories over Oakville (3-2), Markam (5-1), Caledon (4-3) and the Toronto Eagles (2-1) which secured them 1
st place overall heading into the semi-finals where they squeaked out a narrow 1-0 victory over Noble King on a late goal with only 53 seconds to go in the game.

The semi-final victory set up a rematch with Oakville in the final and after falling behind 1-0 in the second period the team rallied for 3 straight goals and ended up winning 3-2 to claim the championship.

Congrats to everyone on a well-deserved championship with strong contributions from every player!
