Minor Bantam MD - Waxers Early Bird Runners Up
The Minor Bantam MD competed in the Waxers Early Bird Tournament that took place between, September 8th to 10th. This was the newly constructed team’s first games together.
There are 5 new members to this team, but with the guidance of the returning players and the positive coaching, the team was able to gel quickly.
In the first game EG lost to Newmarket 3 to 2. In the second game they were able to beat North York Mills 4 to 1. On Saturday EG lost to Georgina 6 to 2. In the afternoon game EG beat Richmond Hill 3 to 2.
In the semi-final game on Sunday EG faced a rematch with Georgina, this time they were victorious winning the game 2 to 1. In the final game EG faced North York Mills again, this time falling 3 to 0.
Although the team fell short of the winning the tournament, they were able to attain a more important goal and that was learning how to play and grow together as a team. Hopefully the early success bodes well for the team this season.
