Minor PeeWee win Silver in Ottawa Midseason Showdown
The Minor Peewee team travelled to the Nations Capital on November 29th to December 1st.  Friday morning they were matched up against the hometown team of the Stittsville Rams.  The Eagles scored within the first 2 minutes of the game to set the tone for the game!  Stittsville then responded with 2 goals in the 1st.  Eagles never gave up and ended up scoring a goal in the 2nd to tie it up and a goal in the 3rd for the 3-2 win!

Later in the day the team was matched up against the Ottawa Sting.  Another close game with the Eagles coming out on top with another 3-2 win.  Saturday morning we played against the Cumberland Jr Grads, which ended in a 4-1 win.  Later in the day our Eagles battled against the #1 B team rated in Ontario.  Down 2 goals after the 1st period, we gained a short handed 5 on 3 goal in the 2nd period.  With only 1 other goal in the 3rd period the Eagles came up short with a 3-2 loss against the Nepean Black.

With 3 wins and 1 loss the Eagles earned a 5th place round robin finish and a spot in the wild card Sunday 8 am game to challenge the Nepean Black team again.  Looking not to go home, the Eagles came out flying!!  After the 1st period the Eagles were up 3-0.  The Nepean team would battle back but Eagles came out on top with a 5-2 win!

On to the semi finals only a short couple hours later, they would play the 1st place undefeated Mississippi Kings.  After the 1st period it was tied 1-1, after the 2nd period the teams were tied 2-2.  After the 3rd it remained 2-2.  With a man in the penalty box overtime was started with a 4 on 3.  The rest of overtime seemed to remain with the Eagles being shorthanded.  After 5 minutes they were off to a shoot out!!!  With our 1st shooter scoring, we won the game!!!

On to our 7th game of the weekend, and our 3rd of the day the Eagles were re-matched with the hometown Stittsville Rams.  Unfortunately with no gas left in the tank the Eagles were defeated 4-1.  They had an amazing weekend, played great as a team on and off the ice.  With the storm rolling through most of the team got to spend another night in the hotel hanging out in the pool and in the arcade!

Congratulations Eagles on an amazing weekend!!
