Tyke Select Tryouts
The first Tyke Select Tryout will be on Thursday, October 20th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

Try Out #2 - Thursday, October 27th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

House League players born in 2009 or 2010 are eligible to try out for the Tyke Select team.

All players will be evaluated on their skills and game play.  Ensure your player arrives early to each try out to register and be assigned a pinny.

Cost: $15.00/session

Please note that Tyke Select will require a higher level of player commitment than traditional house league.  Although this is not deemed a "Rep Team" as per OMHA guidelines, it requires the same amount of commitment as one.  If your child is successful and selected to the team, they will have extra practices and games outside of their house league team.  Games and practices can conceivably occur any day of the week.  There is an expectation that if selected, a player will make every effort to attend as required.

Once the team is selected, they will begin practicing on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm (this is in addition to their house league practice on Saturdays).  Starting in December, the Tyke Select team will play 3 exhibition games per month and may participate in several tournaments (one within our local area and one that may be away), travel to those games or tournaments will be required.

In addition to the increased time commitment, there will be additional fees levied to each player to offset costs of uniforms, additional ice & referees.  This fee will be determined by the coaching staff when they establish the team budget.  Typically this can range from $400 to $800/per player however the team may find sponsors and do fundraising to help off set these additional costs.

Our Tyke Select program has been very successful in developing our players (some of who may move onto the Rep program) and despite the extra commitment, the players love being the youngest Eagles to represent the EGMHA.
