Congratulations to our
East Gwillimbury Eagles on winning the Tyke Roster Select Division of the Pickering
Minor Hockey Spring Thaw Tournament over Easter Weekend.
Our Eagles secured
first place in the Round Robin with wins against the Kiwanis Select Stars
(6-1), Barrie Colts (8-1), Markham Waxers (7-0) and the Oshawa Falcons (2-0).
In the Semi Final game, our
Tykes continued their streak with a 6-1 win against the Whitby Wildcats.
In the Championship game, our Tykes
faced their toughest competitors all season.
The Frontenac Flyers went head to head with our Tykes in a thrilling
game where both teams were determined to win!
In the end an empty net goal in the last minute of the 3rd
Period ensured the 4-2 victory for our Eagles.
Congratulations to the whole team: Amelia, Owen M, Fisher, Kurtis, Jessica, Ethan, Aiden, Daniel, Damon, Devon, Carden, Ben, Emerson, and Destin (and coaches: Todd, Kenny, Reid and Paul) – on such a thrilling tournament and congratulations on their
PERFECT season!!!

Our Tyke Select Eagles have one more session on the ice, as this Sunday they are at the Air Canada Centre doing the Train like a Pro experience they won in the Ford Drills and Skills contest. Check back next week for the pictures!
