Bake sale for the Canadian Blind Hockey Association.
On Saturday December 9th, join the Eagles Novice "A" as they raise money for Canadian Blind Hockey Association and their school based Learn to Skate program, formally known as Courage Canada.
The Eagles are having a bake sale to raise money and awareness about the
Canadian Blind Hockey Association and their school based Learn to Skate program.
We will be in the lobby of the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex selling bake items on Saturday December 9, 2017.
Come out and buy some treats just in time for the holidays.
A little about who we are helping:
The Canadian Blind Hockey Learn to Skate program has introduced skating and ice hockey to thousands of children who are blind, deafblind or partially sighted, from coast to coast. They provide the experience and opportunity to have the confidence to step onto ice and skate, an experience many visually impaired kids would be too afraid to try on their own. Over 30 different participants from York Region District School Board have participated yearly for the past 5 years, including a number from the East Gwillimbury/ Newmarket/ Georgina area. Canadian Blind Hockey also helps bring the sport of hockey to men and women across Canada who are visually impaired. Toronto even has its own blind ice hockey team, the Toronto Ice Owls.
See you on Saturday.
