2019 Dunsmuir Memorial Jamboree Rules

1. This is an OMHA sanctioned tournament in which OMHA and OHF rules apply.

2. By entering this tournament, the coach or manager, on behalf of their team, releases the East Gwillimbury Minor Hockey Association (EGMHA), the Dunsmuir Memorial Tournament Committee and all officials, referees, sponsors, volunteers, arena management and all concerned with the tournament from any and all liability of injury or accident which may be incurred by any player or team official while participating in coming to or going from the tournament.

3. Suspension rules used for the tournament will be the same as found in the OMHA Manual of Operations. It is the offending team’s responsibility to ensure that all tournament suspensions and carry‐over suspensions are adhered to. Violations during the tournament will result in the forfeiture of the affected games.

4. Interpretation all of rules and regulations will be at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. All of decisions made by the Tournament Committee will be final. No protests allowed.

5. Each Double team may register a maximum of 21 players including two goaltenders (includes A/P’s).

6. Each team will carry home and away jerseys. Home will wear light and visitors will wear dark. In the event of a conflict, the home team will change sweaters. If you only have one colour pinnies will be provided for the game and must be returned immediately after each game. If not returned your team will assume financial responsibility and will be invoiced for the purchase of new pinnies. If you have pinnies of your own they may be used.

7. A member of the coaching staff must report to the tournament office to complete a participant sheet prior to
each game.

8. Only carded persons are allowed on the bench. Each OMHA team must have a carded trainer. If a team shows up without a trainer they may use the other team's trainer.

9. Jamboree modified-games will be played in a Half-Ice format. Reference APPENDIX “A”

10. Prior to each modified-game, teams must complete a Game Participant List (see sample in Appendix ‘B’)
indicating the name and number of each player as well as all Team Officials that will be participating in that modified-game. Only those players and Team Officials on the team’s approved roster are eligible to participate.

11. Shift Length shall be on a set time/buzzer system, shifts will be 3 minutes.

12. One rostered and approved Team Official from each team will be on the ice during each game.

13. The Lightweight (4 oz.) Blue Puck will be used.

14. Boards/dividers/bumpers will divide the ice surface.

15. Small or modified nets will be used for each game.

16. Players on ice will adhere to the four versus four (4V4) format.

17. Face-offs are used only at the start of each game.

18. No scoring or standings will be recorded.

19. No penalties or offside/icing are to be called.

20. There will be a three (3) minute warm‐up prior to each game. The clock will start the warm‐up when the first team steps on the ice.

21. Game times will be as follows:
Three (3) modified-games per team, per day; three (3) hours playing time
Runtime 45-minute cross-ice modified-game; three (3)-minute buzzer No periods / No Overtime / No Time‐Outs / No Finals

22. Parents and guests are the responsibility of the team. Inappropriate parent or guest behavior towards the competing team, any children, officials, coaches, arena staff, tournament staff, OMHA staff and/or other parents may result in the expulsion of the team from the tournament.

APPENDIX A

Half Ice: Two (2) Modified-Games:

Two Half-ice modified-games run simultaneously. Teams would share player benches and use one door each. Note: recommend boards to divide the rink in this set-up to keep pucks in their respective playing areas and reduce the chance of errant shots.
