WE THE EAST!!!!!

The EGMHA Eagles are gearing up for the Seventh Annual Battle of the Gwillimburies Tournament from Dec 7th and 10th.

It is promising to be be an exciting weekend as the West Gwillimbury and East Gwillimbury teams battle it out for hockey bragging rights.   The inaugural event started in 2012 with East Gwillimbury capturing the titles in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017 and the Bulldogs taking the title in 2013 and 2015. This year our Eagles are going to have to play hard to retain the title from the Bulldogs!

COME ON OUT IN YOUR EAGLES WEAR TO SHOW THAT THE EAST RULES!!!!

The Tyke Select team will kick off the action with the Official Puck Drop by both Mayors on the West Pad on Friday Dec 7th at 6:00 pm.

Action will continue on Saturday in EG when the PeeWee A team takes the ice at 3:20 pm, with the rest of the rep teams playing throughout the day at either the Bob Fallis or Bradford Leisure Centre ice pads.

On Sunday, we have a busy day here at home with the Novice A team kicking off the games at 2:00 pm on the West Pad, and our Eagles will play all day with the Minor Bantam A team wrapping up the day in EG with a 7:00 pm start time.

The last game of the Battle will take place on Monday night here at home when the Bantam A team takes the ice at 7:00 pm.

A full listing of game times and locations are below.

The Gwillmbury Cup is not the only thing on the line as our Mayor challenge is returning this year!  The mayor of the losing team will have to wear the winning team’s jersey at an upcoming council meeting.
