Hockey 4 Hunger is now running
Submitted By EGMHA Webmaster (JM) on Tuesday, November 24, 2020
The EGMHA Hockey 4 Hunger program was established in 2007 by parents to teach our players in the association the importance of “giving back” to the community with something many of us take for granted – FOOD!

Over the past 13 years, the Hockey 4 Hunger fundraiser has generated over 144,000 LBS of non-perishable items to donate our local food banks.

As we are all aware, Minor Hockey looks different this season as we deal with the current pandemic. Our 2020 Hockey 4 Hunger program will also be different this year in order to keep our players, families and community safe. With being said, we have created an online monetary donation fundraising platform. How we give back will be different this year, but as an association our most important goal is still to teach our players how our donations will provide food and support to those who are less fortunate in our community.

We encourage you to discuss this topic with your players, as your contribution, big or small, will help to support those in need. All funds raised will go directly towards our local food banks:

  • Mount Albert Food Pantry
  • Holland Landing Food Pantry
  • Sharon Food Closet
  • Newmarket Food Bank

Please donate now as we need your support to achieve our 2020 Hockey 4 Hunger Online fundraising goal of $4,000 by December 24, 2020. We encourage you to share this online fundraiser with your friends, families, coworkers, and anyone else you can think of as this year our local food banks need our help more than ever!

We hope that you and your families stay healthy and safe and look forward to the 2021 hockey season where we can hopefully bring the Hockey 4 Hunger Food Drive back into the Arena.

Thank you for your continued support!
