We would like to congratulate the U9A Eagles for finishing 2nd at the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League playoff tournament this past weekend in Bradford!
Our Eagles were the talk of the tournament as the #8 seed in the regular season had to play a play in game against the #9 seed Markham. Winner moved on to play the #1 seed King on Saturday morning.
The Eagles defeated Markham 5-0 and moved on to play heavy favorite King who held a goal differential of 73 GF and 13 GA in 10 regular season games. The Eagles were the underdogs but played their hearts out in the tournament and went on to defeat the #1 seed King 3-2, #4 seed Barrie 4-2, and #2 seed Innisfil 3-2 in the tournament semi final.
It was a rematch for our Eagles against King in the Championship game. The Eagles battled hard and gave King a tough go, but fell 2-0 in the championship final.
A remarkable run for our U9A Eagles bringing home the silver medal!!
