FAQs

Returning players will be required to submit their full name and date of birth. Check our website for detailed instructions and a link to our online registration page. If you are a returning player and have moved since your last registration, please contact your last registered association to confirm your eligibility and complete the change of residential address process.
Registration costs vary depending on the age group.  Please see our Registration Information page for costs.

Costs aren’t as high as you think. We have a basic registration fee which includes a standard level of programming. Additional activity, like playing on a Minor Development or Select team, playing tournaments do involve extra fees.
Basic registration includes standard programming. Players in the House League program will receive two hours/week on the ice, a team jersey, a pair of hockey socks, a team photo and an end-of-season banquet.  For players in the Local League program, the number of practices provided depends on the division (all players do receive 2 team jerseys and socks and a team photo).
The current targeted start date is late-September 2023 for Minor Development teams. Evaluations for House League and Local League will begin in either late-September or early-October and the season will start shortly thereafter.  Please make sure to bring your child to the evaluations as it helps us create balanced teams for the season. The season is expected to end in mid-March.

Generally the House League hockey program operates on Saturdays & Sundays; with practices on Saturdays and games on Sundays. The ice times will be consistent through the season.   While we won’t know for sure until we finalize our yearly ice contract with the town, we try our best to keep the times consistent with the previous year.

While ice times are subject to change, here is general idea of what to expect:

Local League and Rep teams don’t have a consistent day, generally they will play games at various days, times and locations throughout the week.  Practices for Local League and associated provided practices for Rep will always be in EG, and practice times will usually be consistent.

Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about you.  You will be contacted sometime in mid to late September by the association to let you know what your assigned times are for House League and/or Local League evaluations.  Players must be in full equipment for evaluations (including neck and mouth guards). Also keep checking the EGMHA website over the summer as we’ll keep you posted of any news regarding our House League and Local League programs.

The continued success of the EGMHA is very dependent on the strength of our volunteers and we are always looking for new people willing to contribute their time to our various programs. You do not need to be a hockey expert to help us with our programs. We are always in need of good Coaching candidates, but we also need people who have good organizational skills and above all a passion to help and work with children. If you are interested in helping us in any of the many roles we need help with, please contact one of our Executive members to discuss.  For contact information of the Executives, please click on the About Us drop down menu and then click on the Executive & Staff option which will provide you with contact information.
