Minor Atom - Sudbury 80s Finalists
Congrats to our Minor Atom A team who ended up with a second place finish in the 30th Sudbury 80's Tournament the weekend of October 14th.

Our Eagles opened the tournament with a tough 6-4 loss to Nepean Raiders but bounced back with uncontested wins over the Nickel City Flyers and Copper Cliff Redmen.   Player of the Game Honours went to Damon Crozier for the first game and Owen Mackey for games 2 and 3.

The championship game was back-and-forth, with teams trading scoring chances through the first 2 periods. Our Minor Atom Eagles played hard, but despite a stellar performance by our goaltender Austin Hamblin (who was awarded the Player of the Game), the Raiders broke the stalemate by scoring late in the 3rd period to hold on for the championship win.

In addition to the hard work they showed on the ice that weekend, our Eagles also displayed their heart in supporting the family of one of their players (whose grandfather lives in Sudbury and is currently fighting Leukemia) by taping their sticks orange in support of those fighting blood cancers.  A pretty amazing moment to see our Eagles all flying down the ice with their orange sticks!

Great effort both on and off the ice by our Eagle Atoms!
