Atom Select win Richmond Hill Stars Select Tournament
Congratulations to the East Gwillimbury Eagles Atom Select Team for winning the 2018 Richmond Hill Stars Select Tournament!
Our Atom Eagles arrived very nervous for their first Select Tournament of the year. A first game loss of 5 – 3 (included a bad timing empty netter) against a tough Stouffville Clippers team on Friday didn't hold this team back. The Eagles came back that night for a shut out win 7 – 0 against The Oshawa Falcons.
In third place after round robin play, the Atom Select Eagles had a rematch with the Stouffville Clippers on Sunday morning. Down 2-0, they rallied for a 3-2 win, locking up a spot in the finalsagainst the West Hill Golden Hawks for Sunday afternoon.
Our Atom Eagles had to play their regularly scheduled house league games in between the semi and final game to make it 3 games in 5 hours! Many kids travelled from our arena in Sharon to the Richmond Hill arena in full uniform, piggy back from the car to change room with skates on to arrive just in time for puck drop! From that point, it was game on!
